Amidst contract news, West Ham United is preparing a £34.8 million bid to sign Juventus striker Manuel Locatelli.

On October 27, the Italian news source stated on their website that Juve is ready to discuss a new and better contract with the 25-year-old Italy midfielder as soon as possible since they are desperate to keep him.

Locatelli might be West Ham’s replacement for Tomas Soucek, according to Calciomercato’s report on Tuesday, October 24. TuttoJuve does not specify if West Ham will attempt to sign Locatelli in January or next summer.

Star-quality signing

Locatelli is exactly the kind of player that West Ham needs to be trying to sign if they want to keep improving and moving up to the next level.

The Irons have begun to shop at big teams, even if there are undoubtedly jewels in the lower leagues of England and outside of Europe’s main leagues.

Two Ajax players were signed this past summer, and players from Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Lyon were brought in the previous year.

One of Juventus’ top players is now connected to us.

Once described as “phenomenal” by Roberto Mancini, Locatelli joined Juventus on loan from Sassuolo in 2021 and has since become a cornerstone of the team.

After a fantastic two-year loan stint, he recently signed a permanent contract with Juventus. However, it is evident that he has improved enough to attract interest from both Juve and West Ham.

But because of that, we don’t think this deal will actually go through.

A January transfer is unlikely because Locatelli has a better chance of earning hardware at Juventus this year; however, a summer transfer could be contingent on the Irons’ performance and their ability to return to Europe.
