Nicolo Zaniolo is being looked into for possibly breaking betting regulations.

Nicolo Zaniolo, a football player on loan from Aston Villa, is not anticipated to face a suspension from the game as he fights for a complete acquittal regarding charges of gambling.

The 24-year-old, who is one of three players under investigation by Italian police investigating possible illicit betting, is rumored to deny having wagered on football. Nicolo Fagioli of Juventus and midfielder Sando Tonali of Newcastle United are also involved; the latter has been banned for at least seven months for violating betting regulations.

Zaniolo is ready to defend his position. His attorney Gianluca Tonozzi said on Monday that his client had “never bet,” but he also mentioned the possibility that he had played card games like blackjack and poker on unapproved platforms without realizing they were prohibited.

The Italian football association stated that Zaniolo and Tonali were not in the proper “condition” to play in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and England, therefore they both pulled out of the Italy team last week.

Zaniolo is rumored to play for Villa this weekend against West Ham.
