Ross Wilson was the Ibrox team’s most recent sporting director, although the position is presently vacant.

According to the official Rangers website, he departed the Scottish team earlier this year to join Nottingham Forest in the Premier League (12 April).

As reported by the Daily Record, Bisgrove said, “That’s a conversation I’ve had with Philippe and with the board,” in response to the question of whether the team will name a sporting director. Everyone agrees that leadership is essential.

“There are several leaders on our football board, including the chairman, manager, John Park, and Greg Robertson.

“We have a capable team that will carry out the plan and make important choices. However, we think a technical director will bring more value, and we are now discussing this discussion in real time.

Incoming?

Rangers have been preoccupied lately selecting a new manager, but with Clement’s hiring, the decision-makers can now concentrate on other matters.

Furthermore, it appears that Bisgrove and associates will prioritize the selection of a new athletic director. The Ibrox team has struggled to make the right transfers lately, and former manager Michael Beale found that area to be very expensive.

His firing earlier last month was certainly influenced by poor performance, but Beale also brought nine new players to the team during the summer transfer window.

Few have performed to the level that was anticipated of them in these early goings, and the former manager of the Green Bay Packers was also in the dugout when players like Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos left for free at the end of the previous campaign.

In the forthcoming January transfer window, the pressure on new manager Clement will undoubtedly be lessened with the appointment of a new sports director.
