Following his summer signing from Tottenham, Harry Winks has swiftly established himself as an important member of Leicester City’s team.
Harry Winks, a midfielder for Leicester City, claims that manager Enzo Maresca’s coaching style is “another level” from anything he has ever encountered.
Maresca has had a productive debut season in command of City, having won 10 of his first 11 league games. According to the results, City is in first place in the Championship standings, 10 points ahead of Preston in third.
The function of Winks at the foundation of midfield is crucial to the Italian’s completely new playing style. The midfielder, who cost Maresca about £10 million to acquire from Tottenham, was his first acquisition as City manager.
Given that the 27-year-old played for England and represented Tottenham in the Champions League final, the signing of Winks could be considered something of a coup for City. Winks attributes Maresca with helping to bring out the best in him because of the performances he has put on while wearing a City jersey this season.
He told SkyBet, through the EFL, “The manager hasn’t really changed my game; he’s just brought out more of my strengths.” “He looks at your talents and tries to make you the greatest player you can be to serve the team in the best way, rather than focusing on your flaws and where you need to grow.
Another thing he does that goes unnoticed is the way he relishes playing football and does so with a smile on his face. Because there are so many negative things in football these days, it’s easy to overlook how vital a message that is to the players. However, if you go out there and enjoy playing football, you’ll play your best.
Winks had played for Spurs his whole career prior to joining City (with the exception of a season-long loan with Sampdoria). He has collaborated with several managers, including Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino, and Antonio Conte. But according to Winks, the City manager is on “another level” than any other manager he has worked under.
“I’ve worked for some influential managers in the game, and this manager is probably one of the best in terms of ideas, tactics, and everything in terms of management,” the player continued. “I’ve learned a lot, and even though I’ve only been here for a few months, I feel like I’ve made significant progress in my football game.
“The way he presents the game, the circumstances he provides, the manner in which he virtually foretells the course of the game before you begin, and the locations of the solutions. I’ve never really encountered this level of coaching before, and I’m really enjoying it.
