A host of Leicester City loanees are in contention to return to action for their respective clubs following the conclusion of the latest international break.

– Several Leicester City players are out on loan this season
– Lewis Brunt was part the Mansfield squad that beat Notts County at the weekend
– Defender Victor Kristiansen missed Bologna’s last fixture through injury
– Boubakary Soumaré, Luke Thomas, Zach Booth and Nathan Opoku are also on loan

While club football around the major European leagues gets back up and running later this week, fixtures have continued in Sky Bet League 1 and 2. Foxes defender Lewis Brunt was on the bench as Mansfield maintained their fine form with a 4-1 triumph away to Notts County on Saturday.

Having gone a goal down early on at Meadow Park, the Stags recovered to maintain their unbeaten run, which now stretches to 13 league matches. Third in the fourth tier table, the Nottinghamshire club take on Forest Green at One Call Stadium this Saturday (3pm kick-off), with the 22-year-old in contention for his 10th Mansfield appearance.

Full-back Victor Kristiansen, meanwhile, may return from the hamstring injury that kept him out of Bologna’s 2-2 draw with Inter Milan last weekend whenI Rossoblù tackleFrosinone in their next league outing on Saturday (2pm kick-off).

Eleventh in Serie A as things stand, Bologna have collected 11 points from their opening eight matches, with the Danish defender making five appearances since his temporary move to the Italian club.

Across Europe, defensive midfielder Boubakary Soumaré was an unused substitute in Sevilla’s 2-2 draw with Rayo Vallecano prior to the international break, when Youssef En-Nesyri’s stoppage-time equaliser ensured the hosts took a share of the spoils at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Next up in La Liga, Rojiblancos host Real Madrid this Saturday (5:30pm kick-off), when the Frenchman will be aiming to make his fourth appearance for the club, before facing Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League three days later (8pm kick-off).

Luke Thomas could make his sixth Premier League outing of the campaign for Sheffield United when the 20th-placed Blades host Manchester United at Bramall Lane on Saturday 21 October (8pm kick-off).

In Belgium, Nathan Opoku remains out of contention for OH Leuven due to injury, havingmade four appearances during the opening weeks of 2023/24, scoring one goal in the Jupiler Pro League. Leuven sit 14th in the division with a home fixture against Sint-Truidense up next this Sunday (6:15pm kick-off).

American forward Zach Booth will be hoping to be involved again for FC Volendam when the Eredivisie outfit, who are 17th after seven games, travel to face RKC Waalwijk on Saturday (5:45pm kick-off).
