Leeds United now have a number of injured players, and there may be a new worry at Elland Road, according to an update from reputable journalist Phil Hay.

Who is out for Leeds?
The Whites have made a sluggish start to their Championship campaign, despite being one of the favourites to gain promotion to the Premier League, with plenty of quality in their roster.

Daniel Farke’s side could only draw 0-0 at home to local rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, earning the Owls their first point of the season in the process. Leeds has only collected six points from their first five league games in 2023/24, winning only once process, which is unquestionably a letdown.

While some of the performances have been poor, the Whites do have the excuse of multiple players being sidelined due to injuries at the time. Patrick Bamford is one of them, as he continues to suffer with fitness issues, while Sam Byram and Dan James are also out, as are Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas.

Following a major claim from a reputable source, a new player appears to have picked up a new ailment.

Is Archie Gray of Leeds injured?
Hay confirmed to X that Archie Gray will not be joining England’s Under-19s on international duty owing to a “minor fitness concern.”

“Archie Gray is not leaving England’s U19s.” Leeds United have withdrawn him from the squad due to a minor fitness issue. Tyring is trying to manage his load and stay fit for Millwall. This season, I’ve appeared in every game.”

Gray, who was labeled “sensational” against Ipswich Town recently, is a tremendously exciting talent at Leeds who has already established himself as a regular at the age of 17, having started five Championship games this season. During that time, he has averaged 1.4 tackles per game and has a 93.3% pass completion rate.

This is a concerning development for the Whites, with the hope that the club is simply being cautious, not wanting him to worsen a minor injury while on international service. If he can recover during the forthcoming domestic break, he should be eligible for his team’s next league game, which is away to Millwall on September 17th.
