His transfer to Park Hall was finalized on Saturday and filed before the transfer deadline of Friday. The centre-forward is the reigning Cymru Premier champions’ seventh signing of the summer.

The 20-year-old was released by Villa Park this summer after spending the previous eight years of his career there. He appeared for Villa’s first team in the FA Cup against Liverpool in January 2021.

His other senior-level experience came from loan spells with Carlisle United and Ayr United, where he scored three goals and assisted once. He had 42 goals and 12 assists in 42 games for the under-18s and under-21s.74 games.

“I am really excited to be joining The New Saints,” Young told the club’s official website.

“I’m thrilled to have signed a contract here, and I can’t wait to get started and get back on the pitch with the same zeal that I had before.”

Young’s arrival strengthens Craig Harrison’s front line and offers him with another option after Declan McManus’ injury. The two-time Golden Boot winner suffered a groin injury against Pontypridd United and has been sidelined since.

“We worked hard all week, and it came down to the very last minutes of the deadline, but we are very pleased to get Brad signed,” head coach Craig Harrison stated.

“Brad has a fantastic pedigree. He has spent a significant amount of time with an English Premier League team and has also been named to the England U20 squad.

“He is still young, but he has a lot of potential, and we are excited to work with him on a daily basis.”

“I think it’s a really good fit for both the club and the player.”

Young was the second player signed around the deadline, following Luke Brennan, who came on a season-long loan from Wigan Athletic.

Before going out on loan, the 21-year-old signed a new one-year contract at the DW Stadium and scored 20 goals for Wigan’s under-21 Central League team.

He was a member of the first team’s pre-season plans and appeared in the Carabao Cup against Wrexham in August.

Benny Cuoto was loaned from National League side Benny Cuoto earlier in the transfer window, and Blackburn Rovers also loaned Jared Harlock to TNS.

In other news, Adam Roscrow has been loaned to Welling United of the National League South until January.
