Before the season began, there were many people who doubted Tottenham. Despite low expectations during the previous season under Antonio Conte, Spurs have now won eight of their nine games and are leading the league.

Ange Postecoglou has disproved everyone who doubted him, and Guglielmo Vicario is another Spurs player who has done the same.

Leroy Rosenior has been talking about the Italian goalie on Premier League Productions. He claims that although he wasn’t sure he could handle the pressure following his Spurs debut, he has turned out to be an excellent goalie for the team.

However, Postecoglou had an incredible time at Glasgow before moving on to Tottenham in the summer, and Muscat might have a similar future at Ibrox.

Muscat’s familiarity with the Gers from his playing days—he helped the team win a domestic treble during his one season there—gives him an even greater advantage over Postecoglou.

Rosenior spoke highly of the £17m man.

“My goalkeeper was Vicario at Spurs. I think he deserves to be in the side. They’re top of the league and when he came in I thought ‘oh he’s a little bit shaky’ that first game that he came in, but since then he has been absolutely outstanding,” Rosenior said.

Vicario’s debut left a lot of people doubting him, including Rosenior.

Vicario was signed for a fee of $17.2m

On the first day of the season, the Italian truly didn’t look at ease against Brentford. However, he has since developed into this role at Tottenham and appears to be all Spurs needed him to be in replacing Hugo Lloris.

Vicario deserves all the credit for his outstanding start to life at Spurs, even though James Maddison and Micky Van de Ven may be grabbing the most of the headlines. Tottenham made all the right recruitment decisions this summer.

After his Tottenham debut, there were some people who doubted Vicario, but these days, it’s difficult to argue against the Italian’s skill.
