Newcastle United have signed Bruno Guimaraes to a new five-year contract.

Newcastle United have signed Bruno Guimaraes to a new five-year contract. After signing from Lyon in January 2022, the Brazilian has been one of the Toon’s standout performers under Eddie Howe.

The 25-year-old is regarded as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders after his performances on Tyneside, where he is a fixture in the Magpies engine room.

“I’m absolutely delighted,” Guimaraes said after signing a new long-term contract at St James’ Park. “Since my first day here, the fans have made me feel at home, and I’ve never felt so loved in my life.”

“I’m overjoyed here. It’s a welcoming environment, and I hope to continue making the fans happy while also contributing to the team’s success. That’s my goal, because there are no words to describe how happy I am to be here.”

Guimaraes was instrumental in Newcastle’s historic 4-1 Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, propelling them to the top of Group F.
“I remember in my first interview, I said I wanted to play for this club in the Champions League, and now it’s happening,” the Rio-born playmaker continued.

“We’re doing fantastically well, and when I look around the field at my teammates, I’m so proud of them all.” I’m proud of everyone involved, including the team, the staff, the owners, and the fans.

“The city believes in us again, and it’s incredible what we’ve done for the team.” I hope this trend continues. What has happened in my life in the last two years is incredible.”

Guimaraes is expected to play on Sunday when Newcastle travels to West Ham, who are a spot higher in the Premier League than Newcastle.
“I’m delighted to have Bruno signed and committed to the long-term future of the football club,” Howe continued.

“He’s such an important player, and he’s performed admirably since joining the club.”

“He’s been a huge success since he’s been here, so I just hope he can keep it up and continue his success with us.”
