Bruno Guimaraes has finally secured his future at Newcastle United by signing a two-year contract extension at the club.
Since the latter part of last season, Guimaraes’ agents have been in contract negotiations with Newcastle; they have now come to an understanding. The Brazilian signed a contract that was valid until June 2026 when he moved from Lyon to The Magpies in January 2022 for £40 million.
In the Premier League, Guimaraes has drawn interest from teams like Chelsea and Liverpool, and he even acknowledged having “a conversation” with Real Madrid last summer when the La Liga giants were looking to bolster their midfield after losing Casemiro to Manchester United.
The new agreement is anticipated to be revealed by the organization prior to Newcastle’s St James’ Park Champions League matchup versus Paris Saint-Germain. The Magpies’ first Champions League game at St. James’ Park in more than 20 years will take place there.
Guimaraes played the entire game as Eddie Howe’s team drew their opening group stage meeting at AC Milan 0-0 last month. The 25-year-old is anticipated to start again against PSG on Wednesday at 8 o’clock.
