Real Madrid will reportedly send scouts to see two Newcastle United players play against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night at St James’ Park.

According to the Spanish newspaper Defensa Central, Real Madrid is interested in Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle. The duo will almost certainly start Wednesday night’s Champions League group stage match against PSG (8 p.m. kickoff).

Guimaraes and Isak have both impressed for Newcastle since coming for £40 million from Lyon and £63 million from Real Sociedad, respectively. Guimaraes has previously been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and he acknowledged to having ‘a talk’ with the club last summer before confirming his commitment to Newcastle.

The Brazilian is said to have secured a new contract at St James’ Park that will keep him there until June 2028. Guimaraes’ new contract will also feature a £100 million release clause. The club has teased that a formal announcement is on the way.

Guimaraes has 11 goals in 64 games for Newcastle and has been instrumental in the club’s resurgence under Eddie Howe. Isak joined The Magpies for a club record fee last summer and has gone on to score 15 goals in 34 games for the club despite suffering a serious injury only three games into his stint.

Bruno is about to be the clubs top earner

Aside from Guimaraes and Isak, Real Madrid is also interested in PSG starlet Kylian Mbappe, who is set to return after a minor injury scare.
