Transfer rumors surrounding Leeds United as Joe Gelhardt is urged to leave in January.

Former Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton has pushed Joe Gelhardt, a Leeds United forward who has been fighting for playing time since Daniel Farke’s arrival, to leave Elland Road in order to gain more playing time.

In that situation, “I think all players search for game time,” he said to Football Insider. “All you want is to play football on a Saturday, which is why you work so hard in training and during preseason. He won’t vary from the rest.

“He burst into that squad and we really thought he was going to hit the ground running and it was a little bit difficult for him but he always showed up when given an opportunity. If it is not quite happening this season then he needs to assess his options come January because you need to be playing football, there is no point sitting there.

“If the team are not doing as well as they should be and you are still not getting a look in then it kind of tells you where you are at in the squad. I am sure he will be looking at his options come January if he is still not making first team squads.“
