According to Dean Jones, Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart is a target for both West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The journalist said on Tuesday, October 3 through Team Talk that a number of Premier League clubs were keeping an eye on the attacker after his early-season form saw him score 10 Bundesliga goals in only six games, with the Hammers and Spurs being two of them.

Having only joined the ranks of the German club permanently this year, the 27-year-old has attracted a lot of potential suitors already with Jones reporting that Guiniea striker has a £17.3 million release clause in his current contract, with scouting expected to be stepped up.

Jones wrote about the Premier League clubs’ interest in a Stuttgart striker who is now outscoring Harry Kane in the Bundesliga: “A number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham and West Ham, have taken an interest in him.

Several years ago, Brighton was one of the first clubs to be given the opportunity to sign the Guinean international, but more recently, clubs like Fulham and West Ham have shown interest. In the January transfer window, both of those teams are trying to recruit a striker.

Potential

This season, the majority of West Ham United’s fans believed that the team lacked options up front because Danny Ings and Michail Antonio were the only known pure attackers in David Moyes’ squad.

Since Jarrod Bowen, a former Hull City player, has already scored five goals this season, there hasn’t been a problem at the London Stadium in terms of the Irons’ ability to compete for European positions in the Premier League.

Given Guirassy’s outstanding start to the season, Moyes may already have identified the player he needs to bolster his squad when the January transfer window opens. However, such form is unlikely to endure indefinitely.

The 27-year-old could be a good Michael Antonio replacement or at the very least a rotation option given his strength, close control, and ability in the air, which Jones has highlighted as some of his best qualities. For a relatively low release clause, the Hammers could try to beat Tottenham to his signature.
