Hugh Jackman, Will Ferrell, David Beckham, Emma Corrin, and John Cleese have all appeared in the Wrexham FC box. However, executive director Humphrey Ker has his sights set on another celebrity: Taylor Swift.
“I missed our last preseason game to go see Taylor Swift in concert. Everyone beat me up for that, but my wife had booked the tickets well in advance, and it was a pleasant surprise and something wonderful,” Ker shared with a sports website.
Swift has recently garnered news in the sports press for her performances at Kansas City Chiefs games in the NFL. The apparent romance between the Grammy winner and tight end Travis Kelce has been the talk of the town.
Wrexham fans hopes that Taylor Swift will perform at the next match
Given Swift’s newfound interest in football, Ker believes she owes him a visit to the Racecourse Ground, the Red Dragons’ home ground. “In a way, she owes us a trip to the Racecourse because I missed work to come and see her.”
Was Taylor already at Racecourse?
Ker recalled a fan approaching his car in the parking lot to notify him that Taylor Swift was around during the final home game of the 2022-2023 season. “I heard Taylor Swift is at The Turf (the local pub).” “Is that true?” the fan wondered.
Ker was stunned at the time, believing that if it were real, he would have known. “I walked ten yards more and wondered, ‘Is Taylor Swift at The Turf?'” I have no idea. ‘Can I go check?'”
Swift was unable to attend, but Ker found a more than adequate replacement in actor Paul Rudd. “Antman, it’s always good to have an Avenger in our club if you can get one,” the director added.
The chances of seeing the Fearless singer in one of the Racecourse boxes are increasing, especially when actor Ryan Reynolds accompanied her to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
Reynolds and his partner, actor Rob McElhenney, purchased Wrexham through their RR McReynolds Company in 2020.
The Red Dragons will play Mansfield Town at the Field Mill in their next encounter.
