Jaidon Anthony says that joining Leeds United from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window came as a “big shock” to his family.

On deadline day, the 23-year-old arrived at Elland Road on a season-long loan as part of a transaction that saw Luis Sinisterra leave.
Anthony, who has made three appearances for the Whites since arriving, admits the move surprised his family.

“It was a big shock for them on deadline day,” he explained to The Official Leeds United Podcast [29 September, 11m 21s].

“They didn’t really know what was happening right up until the end. They were sat by the TV waiting but they’ve been really supportive and excited.”

Losing Sinisterra to Bournemouth so late in the transfer window was a setback for Leeds, but they were able to replace him with Anthony.

Since arriving at Elland Road, the Arsenal academy product has had to be patient, with all three of his outings coming off the bench.

Anthony made the most of his most recent cameo appearance, scoring the game-winning goal for Leeds against Watford last weekend.

The Hackney ace is already a popular member of the group, and he will most certainly play an important role as the season progresses.

Although Anthony arrived late in the transfer window, it is encouraging to see how quickly he has settled in and made an impression at Elland Road.
