Former Leeds United boss Javi Gracia has reportedly held talks with Almeria over a return to management. That’s according to Cadena SER, who say Gracia touched base with the Spanish side before they sacked Vicente Moreno.

Gracia departed Elland Road with the Whites on the verge of dropping out of the Premier League after being fired by Leeds United for failing to keep them in the top division. Sam Allardyce was unable to maintain Leeds in the top level of England, and Gracia is very close to landing a new position.

According to the source, the Spaniard “gains strength as the hours go by” and fits the profile Almeria is seeking in a new head coach.

Robin Koch thought about staying in Premier League

Robin Koch, a defender for Leeds United, acknowledges that before agreeing to his summer loan to Eintracht Frankfurt, he considered staying in the Premier League. The German defender has performed admirably for his Bundesliga team so far, but he still wants to play for his country once more.

Koch told Sports Illustrated Deutschland, “I looked into it thoroughly, I also pondered about staying in the Premier League, and there were also other inquiries.

“In the end it wasn’t an easy decision, but as always in my career so far, I trusted my gut feeling. Eintracht Frankfurt, with their team and fans, are the right team for me next season. Also, against the background of what has been built here in recent years.

“Returning to the DFB team is a clear goal of mine. This also played into the consideration for the loan to Eintracht Frankfurt.

“I want to get back into the national team and I know that it’s about performance. I want to show that in Frankfurt and be at the top level so that I can offer myself for the national team again.”
