Hugo Ekitike, a 21-year-old Frenchman who is unwelcome, is a possible loan candidate for Paris Saint-Germain to consider in January.

Hugo Ekitike may be allowed to leave PSG in January after being excluded from first-team activities, according to the Paris-based publication Culture PSG. Given that the Ligue 1 club is now willing to let him leave, the Frenchman’s rejection to sign with Eintracht Frankfurt during the summer may have had a significant impact on his decisions.

Towards the end of the transfer period, Hugo Ekitike made headlines in connection with PSG’s acquisition of Randal Kolo Muani. Late in August, the latter became their main striker target, but negotiations proved challenging because Eintracht Frankfurt required a replacement.

Hugo Ekitike, a Frenchman who is 21 years old, was asked to join the other way by PSG, but he declined to take part in the exchange. The striker’s choice indirectly put the transfer of Kolo Muani in jeopardy, which has since infuriated the Parisian heavyweights.

Luis Enrique has not used Ekitike in his matchday teams since they appeared in cameo performances at the start of August. His exclusion from their Champions League roster further demonstrated PSG’s wish for him to depart.

Ekitike wanted to sign with a Premier League team, but PSG lobbied for him to join Frankfurt in the summer. The 21-year-old Frenchman was coveted by West Ham and Crystal Palace, but there was ultimately no time to make that choice.

Prior to the January transfer window, West Ham is still interested in the 21-year-old. David Moyes still needs a replacement for Michail Antonio, the team’s primary striker. The manager of the Hammers had been searching for a replacement for Gianluca Scamacca but had not been successful.

West Ham might approach PSG to test their resolve now that they are willing to even consider letting him go on loan. Additionally, there are other teams that are mildly interested, such Newcastle United. In spite of this, Ekitike would favor teams like the Hammers or Crystal Palace, where he can play more frequently than the Magpies.

Palace were also looking to sign a new forward in the summer. They may have wanted to get rid of Jean-Philippe Mateta, but the Frenchman remained at the club. The Eagles could explore an opportunity to offload him in January and would like Ekitike to replace him.

At Palace, Ekitike could find his ground and make regular forays into the starting eleven under Roy Hodgson. There are other young players, including compatriot Michael OIise, that could tempt the 21-year-old Frenchman to join the Eagles over others.

A move in January seems very much on the cards for Ekitike. For now, Palace and the Hammers look like his set options in the Premier League, and there are chances of joining one during the next window.
