Sergio Ramos has smashed yet another record after making his second Sevilla debut

Following his eventual departure from Paris Saint-Germain, the experienced defender agreed to a free transfer move return to Andalucia this summer.

After getting offers from teams in the United States and Saudi Arabia, Ramos was enticed to come home and compete in the Champions League for the final time.

Injuries hampered Ramos’ early comeback to Sevilla, but he made his La Liga debut in a 1-0 win against Las Palmas and was retained for the 1-1 Champions League stalemate with Lens.

With his game against Lens, he surpassed former Real Madrid colleague Raul Gonzalez for the most UEFA European Cup/Champions League starts in Spain, with 138.

However, according to Cadena SER data, Ramos surpassed Raul in the Las Palmas win, with the centre back now having played the most La Liga minutes in history, with 44, 076.
