Following an exciting victory over Manchester United, Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich speaks collaboration with Leroy Sané
The 34-year-old seasoned offensive midfielder is still in excellent form for club and country, but Jamal Musiala, Bayern Munich’s 20-year-old heir apparent, appears to be in very good hands for both the club’s present and future.
Musiala put on a Champions League performance against Manchester United while playing in the central attacking midfield position to which the Raumdeuter has long been used as Bayern raced away with a 4-3 victory that probably shouldn’t have been that close.
On either wing, his interplay with Leroy Sané, another member of Bayern’s next generation of standard-bearers, shone out the most throughout.
According to Musiala’s assessment of his teammate for the national team, “Leroy is one of the best wingers in the world and is currently in very, very good form,” (via Sport1 journalist Kerry Hau). He’s one of my best pals, so I’m happy. Playing with him and combining with him is a lot of fun.
Both players registered scores but may have been unlucky not to have more. Harry Kane’s pass allowed Sané to score the game’s first goal, and Musiala’s deft footwork allowed Serge Gnabry to increase Bayern’s lead midway through the first half.
This Bayern attack appears to be quite difficult to halt at their peak.
