Aston Villa responds in two words to confirm the injury news.
Aston Villa’s midfielder hasn’t played since the summer owing to a foot ailment, so here are the most recent developments.

With midfielder Jacob Ramsey spotted practicing ahead of the Europa Conference League matchup against Legia Warsaw, Aston Villa has received good news regarding an injury.

After breaking his metatarsal while on international duty with England U21 during their victorious European Championships campaign this summer, the Villa academy graduate is yet to make an appearance this season. Ramsey participated in every game until the quarterfinal, when he suffered an injury.

The 22-year-old appears to be getting closer to playing again, which would be a great help for Unai Emery’s team. Ramsey has been spotted back out on the grass as Villa make their final preparations before departing for Poland on Wednesday.

Villa merely added the words “Good afternoon” to a photo of Ramsey participating in training that was posted on X (previously Twitter). Fans reacted enthusiastically to that statement on social media.

With 38 games played across all competitions, Ramsey was an important player for Villa last season. In 25 Premier League games in 2022–2023, the midfielder scored six goals and contributed seven assists, including two in the pivotal 2-1 final-day victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ramsey may feel that the match against Legia Warsaw is coming up too quickly as he works to improve his fitness after missing the preseason due to injury. The Villa player might look to the Carabao Cup third-round matchup against Everton as an opportunity to return to action.

On September 27, Villa will play host to the Toffees in a cup match. Kickoff is at 7.45 p.m. The matchup takes place between home versus Brighton on September 30 and away at Chelsea on September 24 in the Premier League.
