A forward who has been linked with both Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United is supposedly close to joining Leicester City.

The Whites and the Owls are two teams that are rumored to be interested in Everton’s Tom Cannon. He has apparently been a wanted man all summer.

He was also connected to teams like Stoke City and Sunderland, but The Athletic reports that he will have a medical at Leicester City.

According to reports, a deal worth approximately £7.5 million has been reached, with Everton approving the 20-year-old’s permanent departure.

Those who saw the forward’s goal-scoring prowess for Preston North End last season won’t have been surprised by the reports of interest in him.

Before the loan agreement expired, he scored eight goals in 20 games with the Lilywhites.

This summer, both Leeds and Wednesday added forwards, with the former bringing in Joel Piroe and the latter bringing in Ashley Fletcher.

With Jamal Lowe of AFC Bournemouth reportedly on their radar, the Owls may not be through with their quest for a striker either.
