According to reports, Brighton & Hove Albion will travel back to South America to make a ‘formal bid’ for yet another highly-touted young player.
According to Colombian journalist Julián Capera, Albion is actively pursuing Jhon Sols, an 18-year-old midfielder for Atlético Nacional and a Colombia under-23 international.
Since making his El Verde debut in 2022, the teenager has already contributed four assists in 38 games.
In South America’s top club competition, the Copa Libertadores, Sols has represented Nacional four times. He also assisted the Medelln club in winning the 2023 Superliga Colombiana and 2022 Liga BetPlay Dimayor Apertura championships.
The youthful midfielder is allegedly interested in joining the Seagulls before the summer transfer market closes this evening.
Brighton, according to Capera, are prepared to make a proposal for Sols, although there may be disagreements with a “future sale” provision.
According to reports, Albion only wants Nacional to keep 10% of the proceeds from any future sales; Nacional wants to keep 20%.
