Five of Watford’s Under-21 squad have been offered new deals with the club, while seven have been released at the end of their contracts.

Welsh Under-19 international defender George Abbott, who had a spell out on loan at Potters Bar but then missed much of the second half of the season with a broken ankle, is staying at Vicarage Road.

Former Perth Glory defender Aidan Coyne has also been given a new deal. The Australian was a regular on the bus for first-team away trips last season, and was an unused sub for the away game at QPR in January.

Midfielder Zak Fraser-Grante, who moved to Watford from Hampton and Richmond Borough last summer, has also got a new deal. He spent an international break last season at a Northern Ireland Under-19 training camp.

Striker Laken Torres also has a new deal. He moved to Watford last summer from Chesterfield, where he had been voted their Academy Player of the Year.

Former Stevenage scholar Jake Watkiss, who also moved to Vicarage Road 12 months ago, completes the quintet who have been given a new contract.

The Under-21s that will be leaving the club this summer are Hamzat Balogun, James Collins, Charlie Davis, Junior Gyamfi, Dawid Hamiga, Scott Holding and Charlie Stallard.

The likes of Jack Grieves, Tobi Adeyemo, Myles Roberts and Jonathan Macaulay already have contracts which extend beyond this summer.

Charlie Daniels will be in charge of the Under-21s again next season, with the recently-retired Dan Gosling joining as his assistant.

Meanwhile, in the Under-18s, professional contracts have been offered to second-year scholars Roraigh Browne, Ignacio Garcia-Romero, Jonathan Lawson, Josh Mullins, Gabriel Ortelli and Prince Sikiru.

The Under-18s leaving the club at the end of their scholarships are Ben Casey, Yianni Goulandris, Alfie King, Jack Taylor and Victor Wachowicz.

Former Watford Women head coach Matt Bevans will  be the Under-18s lead coach next season, assisted by Hornets legend Lloyd Doyley who moves back to Vicarage Road after several years on the coaching staff at Boreham Wood.
