Paul Scholes, a veteran of Manchester United, believes Erik ten Hag should be replaced as assistant manager.

Paul Scholes and Manchester United supporters were not pleased with the team’s most recent performance against Crystal Palace. Oliver Glasner and his team overwhelmed the Red Devils, winning 4-0, and the team had no answer for them.

Another setback for Erik ten Hag, who is already facing a great deal of pressure to provide outcomes. The team’s chances of making it to Europe the following season are virtually gone if things continue the way they are. United needs two more points to move up to the top six, where they are now seated in eighth place.

Paul Scholes, a legend at Manchester United, was so dissatisfied with the team’s performance that he even proposed Steve McClaren should take command till the end of the campaign. McClaren, according to Scholes, is the best coach he has ever had. With thanks to Manchester Evening News

Scholes went on to say that he thinks Erik ten Hag keeps McClaren off that team. The Manchester United great appears to have this perspective about the matter, believing that Steve McClaren ought to replace Erik ten Hag till the end of the current campaign.

This would basically remove Erik ten Hag from the picture and place the assistant manager in a custodial position. By the conclusion of the season, though, the Red Devils might not make such a bold decision.

The team still has a final left to play but if they play like they did against Crystal Palace, Pep Guardiola and his team will dance themselves to the FA Cup.

When this season ends, it will be intriguing to see what happens to the Manchester United manager.
