Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly indicated interest in signing Boca Juniors prodigy Cristian Medina this summer, according to a report in Boca Noticias.

Lucas Bergvall, who will join Ange Postecoglou’s team before the upcoming season begins, is one addition that Tottenham made to bolster their midfield, but the Lilywhites have since been connected to a number of midfield players.

The names of players mentioned as possibilities for Tottenham in recent weeks are Ederson (Football.London), Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Leicester City), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), and Conor Gallagher (Chelsea).

Spurs turn their attention to Boca Juniors

Boca Noticias have now put forward another name, stating that Spurs have a keen eye on Argentine youngster Medina.

The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the most consistent midfielders in the Primera Division over the last couple of years and it is alleged that he could make a big move to Europe this summer.

However, the report reveals that Spurs face competition for Medina, with Brighton and Wolves also said to be admirers of the youngster, who is thought to be valued at around €9m (£7.6m).

Spurs Web Opinion

While Tottenham historically have not tended to sign players straight from the South American leagues, they did secure Alejo Veliz last year, which shows that the club are keeping an eye on the best Argentine talent and their policy on that front has shifted slightly. So one would not rule out Spurs making a bid for Medina this summer.
