Following Nottingham Forest’s 3-1 loss to Tottenham in their most recent Premier League game, Kelvin Wilson has talked about how much he enjoys seeing one Reds player.

For Forest in North London, it was not to be. The Reds sulked and sputtered, but thanks to a goal from Chris Wood, they were tied with the Champions League contenders at the break.

But Tottenham won easily after goals from Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven after the break. Wood had another fantastic opportunity, but this time he mispronounced his lines and struck the post, leaving Forest to lament.

Wilson claims that when Forest played Tottenham last Saturday, they had an ace in their pack. He has now been gushing about a star player who gets better every time he plays.

The 2023–24 campaign has seen the Brazilian defense perform exceptionally well. He has made 30 appearances for Forest and has stormed the Premier League.

Wilson is a major admirer of Murillo and believes the Forest defender is similar to a guy he played with at the City Ground.

He stated, “We were talking about this off-air,” on Notts TV’s Team Talk. At the age of 21, the young man exudes an incredible level of confidence.

“You know, even though he scored an own goal and many other players were injured, he just keeps getting better every time he plays. For me, it’s his confidence; he exudes confidence like a seasoned veteran.

“I’m impressed by his one-on-one defense.” Wes Morgan reminds me of the best player I have played with because you can never get past him.

Wilson’s point on the Forest star is valid. The defender’s stock is still rising at age 21. According to a research this week, based on data gathered by CIES, Murillo’s value is already over £30 million.

Murillo could go straight to the top

We think there’s very little chance Forest will keep Murillo. Clubs throughout the continent are also eager to sign the defender, with four Premier League teams actively considering a move.

Before Murillo joined Forest, Manchester City admired his appearance and contemplated making an offer. On the £10.4 million they paid for the Brazilian, though, the Reds will turn a profit.

When the time comes for Murillo to leave, Forest’s task will be to locate a player with a comparable skill set to take his position.

Perhaps the Reds believe they could find the next Murillo in South America, where Forest has had some significant success last season.
