This season, Everton has been an excellent value for safety, but they are still very much in the running for relegation.

Despite being penalized for their past financial crimes, the past few seasons have given the impression that play styles and performances are completely up to the individual; what matters is that they continue to exist.

Well, after years of miserable, turgid football, supporters are growing restless.

Sean Dyche makes questionable comment after Burnley win

Sean Dyche was surprisingly delighted with his team’s 1-0 victory over Burnley, which was decided by a ricocheting block from Dominic Calvert-Lewin that spiraled into the net following the goalkeeper’s kick.

He was, however, one of the few who wished Everton had executed the ten-man Clarets instead.

Nevertheless, the 52-year-old merely stated: “We considered how well we’d played this season and not won, so we purposefully tried to play strong and long and make the game as awkward and ugly as possible and get an ugly win, and it worked.”

Supporters were unlikely to be overly impressed with this, as BBC journalist Phil McNulty was forced to respond to criticism of his remarks from the fan base.
