At Nottingham Forest, it seems to rain every time. Nuno Espirito Santo has begun disclosing details about one of his wounded City Ground players.

Yesterday’s match, which Forest really needed to win, ended in a 1-1 tie for Crystal Palace against the Reds.

However, the outcome and Luton’s loss to Tottenham mean that Forest has temporarily emerged from the relegation zone.

The Reds are now without a number of players due to injury, and Taiwo Awoniyi will be out for some time after suffering a niggle before the Luton game.

Espirito Santo has now been talking about the possible availability of one of his central defenders ahead of a match against Fulham.

Willy Boly was handed his first start since December as Forest drew 1-1 with Luton prior to the international break.

However, he wasn’t fit enough to be involved yesterday against Palace and managing the 33-year-old enforcer is key.

Boly sustained an injury while representing the Ivory Coast. After only 40 minutes of play against Benin, he left the game to receive treatment back at Forest.

Following the game yesterday, Espirito Santo gave some updates on Boly and clarified if he will be ready for Tuesday.

He said to Nottinghamshire Live, “He was hurt while playing for the national team.” Regarding the timing, I’m not sure. We will need to evaluate him, so I’m not sure if he will be accessible on Tuesday.

Felipe made a return to the starting eleven on Saturday but it does feel unlikely that he will play another game in such a short space of time.

As a result, we could see Espirito Santo make another defensive change as Forest once again strive for a badly needed victory.

Boly has been a fine player for Forest and one thing that he’s not afraid to do is head the ball out from the back – something which Forest do lack at times.

Ultimately, Forest have to find a way to get Boly fit. He’s a menace in the air and it’d be most welcomed if he could be fit for the run-in.

Chopping and changing the team is never going to help when it comes to putting together regular wins – particularly defensively.

Hopefully, some good news is around the corner on Boly and if he could be fit to play on Tuesday night it could serve Forest very well.
