According to a report in the Belfast Telegraph, Sunderland full-back Trai Hume is being watched closely by a number of teams, including Leeds.
Connor Roberts is the only natural right-back for Leeds and is now on loan. Sam Byram (2024) and Junior Firpo (2025) are both on contracts that are expiring, thus the club does not appear to be in good long-term form on either side of their back four.
In addition to Leeds, Championship teams Leicester City and Napoli are also competitive, as are Premier League teams Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
Asking price revealed for Hume deal
What the report also points out is that the 22-year-old is going to command a fee in the region of £8million to depart the Stadium of Light in the summer.
His former club in Northern Ireland, Linfield, would be due 15% of the fee due to their sell-on clause included in the contract.
Hume a reliable Championship investment if true
Defensively, Hume would be a solid investment for Leeds in the back four, knowing he can do a good job on either side of the back four.
