Football fans have been urged to pay tribute to a 17-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in Wolverhampton. Harleigh Hepworth, a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan, was found with fatal knife wounds in West Park.
There are now calls for a minute’s applause to be held at Molineux Stadium during the Emirates FA Cup clash with Coventry City. Supporters have been asked to get involved during the seventeenth minute on Saturday, March 16.
A picture of the teen, who was from Staffordshire, smiling alongside the Wolves’ mascot Wolfie, has been widely shared on social media to drum up support. Many fans vowed to “make it happen”, with some also encouraging away supporters to join in.

In relation to Harleigh’s death on Thursday, March 7, two people have been detained thus far.A 17-year-old kid was being questioned by police after his detention on Sunday, March 10, while West Midlands Police has charged a 16-year-old boy—who cannot be identified for legal reasons—with murder.
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Harleigh,” stated Detective Inspector Ade George of the force’s homicide section. We are still investigating, but we have now charged a boy in connection with Harleigh’s passing. Additional patrols in the region will keep the community reassured and assist everyone affected.
