The bilingual English manager continues to be linked with the Sunderland job.

Will Still – who continues to be linked with the Sunderland job – has named Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe as one of his inspirations.

Still has caught the eye of football circles and fans on social media after becoming relatively successful at just 31 years of age and admitting to honing some of his skills on the popular video game Football Manager.

Born in Belgium to English parents, Still played both amateur and semi-professional football before becoming assistant manager of Preston North End’s under-14 team and then going on to manage Lierse, Beerschot and Remis.

After Tony Mowbray was fired, Still was strongly linked to the Sunderland position, and his name kept coming up after Michael Beale was fired earlier this year.

Still, however, discussed his managing inspirations in an interview with AS: “I was inspired by everyone,” he declared. I believe there are various concepts from the football world that we can take inspiration from. Not to mention [Carlo] Ancelotti, who has done some very insane stuff. However, Eddie Howe, who works really well in Newcastle, is also available.

In a recent interview with The Athletic, Still reaffirmed his willingness to work for the Championship in the future.

Without a doubt, I would work for a championship squad,” Still remarked. “I’ve come to realize how important people are,” the speaker said. And how crucial it will be for my work to locate the ideal location. and those that are aware of how I operate, as I do things a little differently. Sometimes I’m a little strange.
