Everton was treated harshly by West Ham in their 3-1 victory, according to David Moyes.
Moyes caused his previous employers pain by allowing the Toffees to go undefeated in ten Premier League games. After missing a penalty just before halftime, Beto opened the score for the Toffees in the 56th minute, giving them a total of 22 shots, 11 of which were on goal.
Kurt Zouma gave West Ham an equalizer, but Everton had more opportunities to take the lead. But their lack of composure paid off, as Edson Alvarez added to the home team’s displeasure after Tomas Soucek scored for the Iron in stoppage time.
The manager of Everton from 2003 to 2014, Moyes, acknowledged that West Ham needed to be “resilient” at all times as the Blues and their supporters began to overwhelm him. He also expressed his joy at managing to overcome the pressure.

“Premier League games are really tight at the moment, there isn’t an awful lot between teams. We’ve just gone through six or seven weeks where very little has gone for us. I don’t know if it’s the right word ‘went for us’ but the goalkeeper made saves which he is there to do. Thrilled with the win, a wee bit of a throwback but I really enjoyed it.
“We’ve had a difficult period. We’ve won a couple of games back-to-back but we’re still hanging in there and had to today. We had to be resilient, there were a couple of times when Everton and crowd got right behind the team. They went 1-0 up, the crowd got right behind them and we had to find a way of staying with it and we just about done it and scored from a corner to equalise. It was a tight game and it went in our favour.
“When we went a goal down, we changed the players a bit how to be better. We found it tough the first 20 minutes at the start of the second half but grew into it and done enough to get a few goals.”
