One assist and five critical passes for £26m Despite yesterday night’s setback for the international team, a Tottenham player was quietly superb.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski put in a brilliant display for Sweden last night, despite suffering a defeat against Austria.

Sweden fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Ralf Rangnick’s side but Kulusevski impressed off the right-hand side.

Under Ange Postecoglou, the 23-year-old has had a strong start to the season, scoring once in four Premier League games.

Kulusevski has put up two positive performances while on international duty over the last week, despite the fact that he is still adjusting to a new system at Tottenham.

In fact, the ex-Juventus player scored on Saturday as Sweden destroyed Estonia 5-0.

He was one of Sweden’s finest players in Tuesday night’s loss to Austria, at least according to the stats.

Kulusevski makes an impact for Sweden
Kulusevski and Viktor Gyokeres both received 7.4 ratings for their performances, making them Sweden’s joint-best performers for the evening, according to WhoScored.

The winger provided an assist late on in the game as he set up Emil Holm for what turned out to be a late consolation.

Kulusevski made five key passes on the night while completing three out of four dribbles attempted.

Kulusevski, who joined Tottenham on an initial loan from Juventus in January of last year, has established himself as a fantastic creative outlet for the club.

Despite the fact that he struggled under Antonio Conte last season, Spurs decided to make the deal permanent this summer for a fee of about £26 million.

However, there are indications that Kulusevski is returning to his great best, and a couple of successful performances for Sweden will only boost his confidence.

The Swedish player, who has played every game under Postecoglou so far this year, will look to build on a strong start against Sheffield United on Saturday.
