Man United has apparently decided who they want to replace Casemiro with should he decide to sell this summer.

Early in the transfer season, Manchester United is allegedly going to make an offer for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.

Casemiro’s future at United is uncertain because Sir Jim Ratcliffe will likely be more brutal with transfers and contracts under his leadership. The Brazilian has performed poorly this season after agreeing to a lucrative five-year contract upon his debut in 2022.

Ratcliffe will be trying to make expense cuts in order to make place for newcomers, since United is struggling with Premier League Profit & Sustainability Rules. Raphael Varane’s contract expires this summer, and while United is planning to consider bids for Antony, a renewal has not yet been made.

Christian Eriksen, 32, may make a comeback, according to Brentford manager Thomas Frank. This summer, Erik ten Hag wants to strengthen his center midfield, and Onana has been mentioned a lot as a possible addition.

United is reportedly preparing an offer for when the summer transfer market opens, according to SPORT. Everton is willing to hold out for £50 million for their player, while Arsenal is reportedly putting up a bid as well.

That would be too much for Barcelona, who are reportedly keeping tabs on Onana’s circumstances. The Financial Fair Play restrictions are forcing the Toffees to give up ground, which might give United and Arsenal the upper hand. However, the Spanish champions want to meet at a cost of approximately £35 million.

Ratcliffe’s next move might rely on who can be sold and which other aspects of the team require work. As Anthony Martial’s contract expires this summer, United is expected to consider looking at attacking support for Rasmus Hojlund.

Reports suggest 18-year-old Mathys Tel of Bayern Munich is on the radar of United. However, new club director Max Eberl has cooled talk of such an exit for the teenager.

He said in a press conference on Tuesday: “It must be possible to successfully lead Bayern to titles and still develop. We want to promote the development of players like Tel.”

A United move for Tel would only be permitted if an attacker leaves. Antony is the likeliest to exit but the Daily Mail says United may struggle to get half of the £85m they paid for him 18 months ago, which would frustrate FFP compliance efforts.
