Newcastle United Target £750,000 FFP Boost Against Blackburn Rovers

Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s game, Howe said: “It’s a huge game for us. We’re absolutely committed to the FA Cup to do well and have been all season. We’ve had two difficult games away from home to get to this stage and now another one. We’ve been looking forward to this game so we know how important it is. In really, really challenging situations, the players have really stuck together and we have to do that now for Blackburn. We have to look at this as the biggest game of our season. And yeah, there’s a lot resting on this next game.”

In addition to their success on the field, Newcastle has benefited monetarily from the FA Cup. Following their victories over Sunderland and Fulham, two Premier League teams, in the previous stages, Newcastle was awarded prize money totaling approximately £225,000. Additionally, both matches were shown live on ITV, which added an additional £195,000 to the Magpies’ coffers through broadcasting fees.

The Magpies have already profited financially from their trip to Ewood Park, having received £125,000 from both teams for the BBC’s choice to broadcast the match. If United defeats the previous Premier League winners, they will receive an additional £225,000 in prize money, bringing their total earnings from the FA Cup run to nearly £770,000.
