‘We’re not sending Christmas cards this year!’ – How USMNT standout Tyler Adams upended Leeds by pursuing a £23 million deal to Bournemouth

Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear acknowledges Tyler Adams is “not on our Christmas card list” because of his behavior during the summer transfer window.

    After being relegated from the Premier League, the United States international midfielder was among many at Elland Road pushing for a move elsewhere. Adams was injured at the close of the 2022-23 season and was unwilling to stay and assist make things right.

  • When asked if he would have chosen to keep Adams and Sinisterra and why they were moved on, Kinnear answered The Square Ball, “No, based on their desire to leave.” I believe you can express your want to leave, but you must remain professional in the interim. You must remember who you have a deal with and the value of that contract. I believe you should approach this through dialogue and mutual agreement rather than the routes they used. I have to accept their decisions in the end, but I don’t think it’s the right way to treat a club that has cared after you and continues to look after you and was offering you excellent alternatives to stay with the club.
