WHAT HAPPENED?
After being relegated from the Premier League, the United States international midfielder was among many at Elland Road pushing for a move elsewhere. Adams was injured at the close of the 2022-23 season and was unwilling to stay and assist make things right. -
WHAT THEY SAID
- When asked if he would have chosen to keep Adams and Sinisterra and why they were moved on, Kinnear answered The Square Ball, “No, based on their desire to leave.” I believe you can express your want to leave, but you must remain professional in the interim. You must remember who you have a deal with and the value of that contract. I believe you should approach this through dialogue and mutual agreement rather than the routes they used. I have to accept their decisions in the end, but I don’t think it’s the right way to treat a club that has cared after you and continues to look after you and was offering you excellent alternatives to stay with the club.
