FOUR successive defeats is unheard of in recent seasons so it was vital to stop the rot at Sutton on Tuesday.

It was far from pretty but victory was all that mattered and Wrexham are back on track in the quest for promotion.

Winning became a habit last season when the Reds battled it out for the National League title with Notts County, and Phil Parkinson’s men came out on top, and it will have to be the same in the final 16 fixtures.

Wrexham are well-placed despite the barren run and the competition is fierce with a number of teams in the race for a top-three finish and automatic promotion.
