Orel Mangala, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, is being pursued by Lyon in an agreement to pay £30 million.

The Premier League’s charges against Forest for violating their sustainability and profitability policies are said to have caused the club’s financial worries, which in turn put pressure on the team to sell players.

The amount is nearly three times what Forest paid for the player in 2022 when he transferred from VfB Stuttgart to the Premier League team.

Mangala has also been linked with Napoli, Juventus and Galatasaray.

‘Like all the players, we have to be ready for everything,’ Forest boss Nuno said when asked about Mangala’s situation earlier this month.

‘There will be ins and outs.

‘Orel is part of the group and is training well. When I arrived he was playing and now he’s not. He is a professional and in this situation he is working very hard and preparing for the matches. We will just have to wait and see.’

The French side are also in advanced talks to sign Said Benrahma from West Ham for £15m plus add-ons.

West Ham still want cover as talks over an 18 month loan for Al Ittihad winger Jota hit a hitch over tax issues.
