Choudhury, who receives £50,000 a week from the Foxes, is presently free on unconditional bail and is scheduled to make his first court appearance next month.

“He was driving very early in the morning and was pulled over by officers quite close to his home,” a source told The Sun.

“He felt he could be out that late because Leicester didn’t have a game the following day.”As he became older and more experienced, he was anticipated to become the club captain and serve as an example for the community.

With Leicester leading the Championship by seven points, the defensive midfielder has been among the best in his position the entire season.

He also participated in the whole 90 minutes of Monday night’s 1-1 tie between second-placed Ipswich and Leicester.

Now into his tenth year at Leicester, Choudhury has played 60 games for the club scoring only once.
