Fans will be excited by Rangers’ reported move for Mohamed Diomande, but they would be even more delighted if a winger like Million Manhoef was also on the verge of joining the team.

Nils Koppen will be familiar with the Netherlands Under-21 winger, who is reportedly a target for Gers manager Philippe Clement as the two seek to bolster the team and provide a more thrilling and energetic brand of football to Ibrox.

The good news is that David Weir might once again be doing his former team a favor by convincing Vitesse Arnhem to part with Million Manhoef. Rangers may have moved one step closer to achieving this goal.

Rangers could have Million Manhoef breakthrough

The summer transfer of Abdallah Sima was made possible in large part by Brighton’s director of football, who will undoubtedly be involved in any permanent move—which the player’s representative has stated is quite likely.

It appears that Weir has unintentionally done Clement a favor once more after revealing that Adrian Mazilu, the Seagulls winger, is leaving for the Eredivisie. Adrian Mazilu was previously linked to Rangers.

Interestingly, Mazilu plays right wing, where Million Manhoef, who is connected to the Rangers, like to play, though the 22-year-old has also filled in at full back this season.

Given the lack of depth in the position and the projected £2.5 million price tag for the flying machine, Clement and Koppen will likely be eager to complete the deal within the next week.

Thankfully, both Rabbi Matondo and Ross McCausland are still young enough to still develop their flaws. Ross McCausland has come out of nowhere to become a consistent starter, and Rabbi Matondo continues to show glimpses of his potential but has to start putting up stronger numbers.

But should they both be regarded as the top option? Rangers need to improve if they hope to win the league, and Million Manhoef might be another piece in the puzzle, with Weir once more assisting to fit the parts together.
