This summer’s expiration of the midfielder’s present contract is scheduled unless new terms can be worked out.

The 25-year-old joined the club on a free transfer from Aston Villa in 2020 following his release from the Premier League side, having spent the previous season on loan with the Sky Blues.

He has been with the Championship outfit under that contract ever since, but with time running out on the deal, and newly-offered terms yet to be agreed, his future at the club is uncertain.

The playmaker only returned to action towards the end of last year, with an ACL injury sidelining him for a substantial amount of time, but with clubs like Burnley having circled the player before, Coventry will want to conclude the matter sooner rather than later

The salary of O’Hare at Coventry

Based on the data from the website Capology, which projects how much each player will make in the future based on their existing contracts, O’Hare is presently estimated to make about £10,000 a week, or £520,000 annually.

Although the midfielder’s contract may contain bonuses and other provisions, Capology lists this as his base salary; hence, this amount is only an estimate.

The player himself has acknowledged that his present club has extended an offer to him for a new contract, but he has not disclosed the amount of the potential deal or the status of the negotiations.

The former Villa man ruptured his ACL on Boxing Day back in 2022, when his side travelled to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United for a Championship bout.

It would be the last time the midfielder took to the field until a substitute appearance in the Sky Blues’ defeat to Rotherham United towards the end of October in 2023.

He was able to quickly dispel any thoughts that he might return a different player, having appeared 14 times in the Championship since his return, picking up five goals and one assist, ahead of this weekend’s meeting with Sheffield Wednesday.
