The initial cost may be less than what fans anticipate because of the way the installments are structured.

According to a source, Bruno Guimaraes, a midfielder for Newcastle United, is almost set to depart the team this summer. Some players may even move the opposite way in a potential player-plus-cash deal.

Newcastle’s ins and outs
The Magpies may presently be concentrating on possible January transfer window additions, such as Manchester City and England star This month, Kalvin Phillips is still one of the main targets, but a significant leave rumor keeps coming up.

Bruno isn’t playing as well as he did the previous season, most likely because he is tired from having so little depth behind him. Several sources have stated that Bruno plans to leave St James’ Park soon. The Brazilian is reportedly being pursued by Barcelona and PSG, and Magpies CEO Darren Eales has acknowledged that they could need to sell in order to acquire, much like Liverpool did when they sold Philippe Coutinho to usher in a new era.

Although the 26-year-old’s contract with Newcastle is set to expire in the summer of 2028, the Magpies will likely want to demand a high amount for his services in the event that he leaves the team. Now, a new report about Bruno’s future on Tyneside has surfaced, and it makes some intriguing allegations about the associated expenditures.

Latest on Bruno’s Newcastle future

Bruno Guimaraes “will leave” Newcastle this summer, according to an update from AS [via Sport Witness]. The Spanish media seems to think a move to either Barca or PSG is all but definite.

The initial cost of his rumored €115 million (£98.9 million) release clause will likely be less than supporters anticipate because it can reportedly be paid in three installments of €38 million (£32.6 million). The Catalan team may even offer players in exchange, which would lower the total cost as well.

Given that Bruno has been one of Newcastle’s most important acquisitions in recent years, his loss would be devastating. He had an instant good impact upon his return in January 2022, and he has since made 86 appearances for the Magpies, contributing 20 goals (11 goals and 9 assists).

In the past, Alan Shearer, the legend of Newcastle, has praised him, saying that he “handles that ball under pressure and is able to ping that ball into the forward players” and that “he’s so comfortable on the ball.”

Eddie Howe would obviously be better off with Bruno staying, as it would allow him to retain one of the first names on his team sheet. However, should Bruno decide to go on, it is essential that a suitable successor step in and immediately fill the vacuum he leaves behind.
