Football Insider has been informed by sources that Fulham and Burnley have expressed interest in signing Gerzino Nyamsi, a center-back for Strasbourg, this month.

The six-foot-four giant is attracting interest from the two Premier League clubs, who are eager to bolster their center-back positions before the transfer window closes.

Nyamsi is being pursued by Belgian team Anderlecht as Strasbourg considers whether to allow the player to leave this month.

The 26-year-old Nyamsi started the first 13 Ligue 1 games of the current campaign before suffering an injury from which he has since recovered.

He was back on the bench in last week’s Coupe de France match against Avoine, and on Friday, January 12, he was one of the replacements for a 1-1 league tie against Marseille.

Currently, the former France Under-20 international has made 69 appearances for Strasbourg in all competitions, with one goal and three assists.

In 2021, he made the move from Stade Rennais to the Alsace-based team for a nominal price, having been offered few opportunities in Belgium.

Nyamsi and Patrick Vieira’s Strasbourg are bound by an agreement that expires in June 2025.

BlueCo, who owns the team and has initiated ties with Chelsea, also holds a majority interest in the latter.

In anticipation of Tosin Adarabioyo potentially departing the team on a free transfer at the end of current season, Fulham is looking to add a new defender to their roster.

Thirteenth in the standings, Marco Silva’s team is eight points above the relegation zone.

Burnley, on the other hand, needs defensive reinforcements in order to keep themselves from being sent back to the Championship.

Four points from safety and ranked 19th in the table are the Vincent Kompany-managed Clarets.

Other news: West Ham can now sell their objective, Fulham, before February 1st.
