Millwall should look to beat Sunderland in transfer race for League One player.

Due to their challenging season, Millwall has only managed nine points from their previous 27 games, placing them close to the bottom of the Championship standings.

Since taking over, Millwall’s new coach Joe Edwards has had mixed results, with just two victories to his name.
Peterborough United’s Kwame Poku, who has been brilliant this season with 14 goal involvement and impressive shooting accuracy, may be a huge asset to Millwall’s attacking unit.

Due to their incredibly challenging season thus far, the Lions have played close to the bottom of the Championship for the majority of the season.

The fact that Gary Rowett opted to resign from his position demonstrated that the results had not been good.

As Rowett’s replacement, Millwall looked to Joe Edwards, and the former Chelsea coach has had a mixed record thus far.

In his debut game in command, the Lions defeated Sheffield Wednesday with ease; however, they have only won once more, that coming on Tuesday against Queens Park Rangers.

The team now sits in 20th place in the rankings with 26 points, six above the requisite 27 points, having scored nine of the possible 27.

January is the first chance Edwards will have to make changes to his squad, and it is likely he will be keen for much activity as they look to climb out of trouble.

Peterborough United’s Kwame Poku was being pursued by other Championship teams, as reported by TEAMtalk in November.

With seven goals and seven assists in League One thus far this season, the 22-year-old has been a breath of fresh air.

Championship teams are taking notice of the player due to his form; Sunderland, Ipswich Town, West Brom, Stoke, and Millwall are among them.

The forward was acquired by Peterborough from Colchester United in 2021, and since joining Posh, he has improved his play. Poku was a key member of the team’s attacking unit the previous season, with four goals and eleven assists.

Millwall should try to beat Sunderland to the signing of Kwame Poku.

Joe Edwards Millwall

Millwall are crying out for fresh additions, as results haven’t been much different under Edwards compared to what they were under Rowett.

The Lions are a side that has struggled in the attacking department for all of this season, with them scoring just 26 goals at the time of writing. That means Millwall are one of the lowest scorers in the Championship, and if they are to move away from the relegation zone, that needs to improve.

The club is heavily reliant on players like Zian Flemming and Kevin Nisbet, so Edwards will want to change this, and what better way to improve your attack than by adding one of the best talents in League One.
