Sources: David Moyes ‘will not be at West Ham next year’

According to Football Insider, sources, David Moyes has informed friends that he does not anticipate managing West Ham in the upcoming campaign.

The Scotsman’s current contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and he has not discussed a new term with the club.

It is believed that he has told his camp that he “won’t be at West Ham next year” as he has had no signals from club chiefs they want him long-term.

Only months after Moyes led the Irons to their second-ever European trophy with their Conference League victory last season—their first in any competition in forty-three years—the team’s board is also evaluating possible replacements.

According to Moyes’ public statements, he is content with his contract role and is just concerned with capitalizing on the season’s promising first half.

The 60-year-old has led the team to unprecedented heights in his second stint as manager, yet a substantial portion of the supporters want him removed due to claims that he plays cautious and defensive football.

West Ham have had some mixed results this season with embarrassing defeats including losing 5-1 against Liverpool in the League Cup and 5-0 to Fulham in the league coming after huge wins against Tottenham and Arsenal.

Their 2-0 victory over his former side Man United on Saturday (23 December) means they went into Boxing Day sixth in the Premier League table with 30 points.

Moyes has also successfully taken the club to the knockout rounds of the Europa League as Group A champions after winning five of their six games.
