Sunderland and Birmingham City are both thought to be interested in the Sevilla teenager, Drammeh Musa
Drammeh is a 22-year-old Gambian attacker who has shined this season for Sevilla’s B team, Sevilla Atletico.
The teenage forward has yet to make his first-team debut but is thought to be on the cusp of being called up after netting five goals and two appearances for the club’s second string this season.
He is in the final six months of his contract with Sevilla, and both the Blues and Black Cats are thought to be interested in signing him on a cheap deal in January.
Carlton Palmer described Musa Drammeh as a “very impressive target”.
Palmer, speaking exclusively to Football League World, described Drammeh as an impressive potential addition but raised concerns about the forward’s lack of senior football experience.
“Birmingham and Sunderland are interested in 22-year-old Musa Drammeh from Sevilla,” said Palmer.
“He has been very impressive at youth team level but has no senior experience. Drammeh’s contract expires in the summer, which makes him a very impressive target for a cut-price fee in the January transfer window.
“We know Sunderland like to buy young players for low fees, develop them and move them on for huge profits.
“Drammeh has pace and is very direct, so would be a good fit at either club and has huge potential.”

Birmingham City boss Wayne Rooney is trying to improve his striker ranks, with the club scoring just 23 goals in 20 league games and the club’s best scorer scoring only five.
Jay Stansfield presently leads the Blues’ scoring charts, but he is on loan, so bringing Drammeh in on a permanent basis would provide the club with some security if Stansfield was recalled by Fulham.
Sunderland, however, have a plethora of young strikers on their books, but none of them have scored this season. Despite this, the club is currently in the play-off positions. This demonstrates that with a prolific striker on their books, they have a very good chance of making the play-offs.
It’s a credit to the rest of the squad that they’re still in the hunt despite having strikers who haven’t scored all season, though it may not be sustainable for the rest of the season.

Considering that Sunderland is known for producing young players, it’s reasonable to argue that Drammeh would be a better match there.
In recent transfer windows, Sunderland has made a concerted effort to acquire young players with the goal of developing them and selling them for a higher price. Birmingham is in the lower half of the table, but the Black Cats are doing better and are in the running for the play-offs.
It’s reasonable to argue that Sunderland, despite their current managerial situation, are a more stable team right now and would be more receptive to a young youngster making their first steps in first-team football.
