Joe Worrall ought to now, in Kelvin Wilson’s opinion, depart Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window. Since the end of October, the Reds center back has not been included in the matchday squad.

In recent weeks, a plethora of information on Forest player Worrall has surfaced. The implication that he is no longer working out with Steve Cooper’s team was possibly the most significant piece of information.

The rate at which the Worrall family has fallen from grace may be considered concerning. He and Scott McKenna played outstandingly together as Forest defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in September.

He now appears to be leaving the team that he said he grew up supporting. Worrall is well down the Forest hierarchy, and there have been rumors that he could be joining Middlesbrough or Leicester.

Worrall has now been discussed by the man who played at the center of a back four for Forest for several years. Thought the player should now quit the team, he has a high regard for him.

“If I were in his situation, he’s the captain of the football club,” he stated to the Forest Focus Podcast. Joe is appealing to me. To be honest, not as a friend or former teammate, but in the context of football, I believe he should go. He won’t play, in my opinion.

“I think the way Forest play, they want to push a bit higher and that doesn’t suit Joe (Worrall). I think he can play in the Premier League. He’s a good age. He’s had good games but he’s not been consistent. That’s the case with a lot of Forest players and no shame to him.”

Wilson correctly points out the situation with Forest captain

As an experienced pundit with 185 Forest appearances, he articulates well. In the case of Worrall, Wilson makes valid points.

At 26 years old, with considerable experience at Forest, Worrall needs consistent playtime. Presently, he struggles to secure a spot in the City Ground squad, posing a challenge for him.

Wilson rightfully suggests that Worrall possesses the quality for a Premier League opportunity. However, Forest’s current lineup features superior center-backs, and the rise of Murillo further complicates Worrall’s situation.

As of now, Worrall attracts interest primarily from the EFL. The upcoming transfer window will be intriguing to see if any Premier League clubs express interest in acquiring the talented defender.
