West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal’s future has taken a turn as an update on a prospective new deal in east London emerges.

West Ham United latest news
David Moyes and his Irons have had a fantastic start to the current Premier League season, despite selling former superstar Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105 million during the summer transfer window.

The departure of Rice was viewed as a huge concern for West Ham, but the club has demonstrated that the absence of their former juggernaut has been minimal.

Summer commitment Edson Alvarez has performed admirably in the 24-year-old’s absence, delighting national media with some of his performances in claret and blue.

West Ham have also strengthened their coaching staff with the additions of John Heitinga, Mark Robson, and Henry Newman, who will work alongside Moyes behind the scenes at Rush Green.

“I’d like to welcome John to West Ham United, as well as Mark and Henry into the first-team group,” Moyes said on the club’s official website.

“I’ve known John for quite some time. He has earned valuable expertise since beginning his coaching career with the Ajax Academy and progressing to their first-team. Mark and Henry are both well-known to everyone at the Club and have earned the opportunity to advance within our organization.

“John, Mark, and Henry will each bring different experience and complement the strengths we already have in the coaching team, which includes Billy, Kevin, and Xavi.” I’m looking forward to working with them and building on our good start.

The Hammers are also rumored to be interested in former star Jesse Lingard to bolster their ranks ahead of a difficult and crowded season of games.

Their good start to the 2023/2024 season has also seen some West Ham players thrive compared to last season, such striker Michail Antonio and Coufal.

There has been a very fascinating update on the latter player’s future.

Will West Ham’s Vladimir Coufal leave?

Indeed, the Czech Republic international appears to have re-established himself as Moyes’ favourite right-back, after being ousted by Thilo Kehrer ove

According to Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke, preliminary talks have begun to prolong Coufal’s tenure with the club.

The 31-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and while West Ham have the option to extend it for another year, it is believed the club is planning to reward his outstanding achievements thus far.

Coufal “could even land a new deal” after a “impressive” start, with the full-back having “turned his career around” under Moyes.

He is currently preferred above fellow right-back Ben Johnson, who has yet to make an appearance.

While Johnson’s contract is slated to expire at the end of the current season, it appears Coufal is the one who is now in line for new terms.

It will be quite intriguing to see the terms of Coufal’s future deal, considering he was also a “key member” of the Conference League-winning squad.
