Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré had ‘tears in his eyes’ when saying goodbye to PSV Eindhoven on deadline day. That’s according to his former teammate Isaac Babadi, who admits he was moved by the midfielder’s ‘emotional’ farewell to the Dutch club. Sangaré joined Nottingham Forest as one of seven new signings on deadline day of the summer transfer window last week. The move came at the end of a summer-long pursuit from Nottingham Forest, who had been keen to get the PSV star for some time and worked hard to ensure they were still in the running by the end of the window.

Sangare’s three-year spell in Eindhoven came to an end with the transfer, which ended a €7 million deal from Toulouse in September 2020.
Over the next three years, he established himself as a vital player and fan favorite, and it appears the feeling was mutual, as it was reported over the weekend that he was tearful when saying his farewell.

Babadi has now confirmed this, thanking his former comrade for the speech he delivered to him and the rest of the group.

“He stood with tears in his eyes during the farewell speech,” he said, according to Eindhovens Dagblad, which was recounted by Voetbal Primeur.
