Wilson was forced to withdraw from the England squad owing to a hamstring issue.

Callum Wilson is anticipated to be out until the end of December as Newcastle’s injury situation worsens ahead of a demanding schedule.

Wilson was replaced at halftime of Newcastle’s 2-0 Champions League loss to Borussia Dortmund last week. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe confirmed Wilson has a ‘tight hamstring’.

Wilson was ruled out of Newcastle’s 2-0 loss to Bournemouth on Sunday, and he was also forced to withdraw from England’s team. Wilson had a scan to investigate the condition after Howe said he could be out for a “number of weeks.”

Wilson will be out for four to six weeks due to a hamstring injury and will most likely return at the end of December.

‘Unfortunately, a recent setback has forced me to withdraw from the squad that I’d worked so hard to be a part of,’ Wilson said after withdrawing from the England squad.

“Though mighty walls may tremble, they endure. I’ll return soon. Best wishes to the team in the upcoming challenges.

The absence of Wilson, with seven goals this season, is a setback for Newcastle, especially in crucial Champions League clashes against PSG and AC Milan. Howe’s injury-ridden squad faces tough Premier League battles with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham in the next month. The Magpies aim to contend for European qualification this season, navigating challenges like playing Anthony Gordon in a makeshift striker role against Bournemouth due to Alexander Isak’s groin injury.”

After the international break, the Swedish center forward is likely to return.

Newcastle are concerned that defender Sven Botman, who has missed the club’s last ten games, will require knee surgery, according to reports.

Javi Manquillo, Harvey Barnes, Elliot Anderson, Dan Burn, Matt Targett, and Jacob Murphy were all injured and missed the defeat against Bournemouth, while Sandro Tonali is serving a 10-month suspension.

Newcastle are now seventh in the Premier League, six points behind the top four.

After the international break, Howe’s team will face Chelsea at home before a crucial Champions League fixture against PSG, with the Magpies bottom of the group but two points behind the French champions in second.
